The UK Association of Professional Engineers - UKAPE

"Campaigning for Fair Representation for Professionals in Engineering throughout their Working Lives — Part of the Unite the Union Family"

This Association, UKAPE, has been in existence since 1969, it is run by Engineers, for Engineers. Initially it was an independent union and later became a semi-independent part of the former EETPU. It is now part of Unite the Union, the largest UK union in the private sector. There are members in all sectors of industry: we are delighted to recruit Chartered, Incorporated and Technician Engineers and those professionals associated with engineering and but not qualified as Engineers.

There are qualified engineers who feel there is no need for union representation, however, whilst there are huge opportunities in Engineering at present and many Engineers will not experience any problems during their working lives, with Brexit around the corner anything could happen. Think of UKAPE membership as low-cost insurance to cover the vicissitudes of life in the coming months and years.
